Welcome to Northern Lights Christian Center and Academy. It’s an honor for us to serve the Hayward area and beyond. Thank you for expressing interest in the ministry. We hope this website will assist your pursuit for God and revelation of His word. We are a full gospel church family and seek to care for one another. We offer a variety of resources that are helpful in furthering the gospel of Jesus Christ and living out the Christian life with meaning, purpose, and effectiveness.
We are a gospel ministry that cares for God’s people, similar to that of a lighthouse. We believe the Bible to be inspired by God and that it is relevant to guide us through the many challenges of life. Our theme verse is Acts 13:47 where is reads, “For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you as a light to the nations, that you may bring salvation to the farthest part of the earth.’” Therefore, we shine His light through building relationships, teaching Scripture, encouraging people to use their gifts to serve Christ, encountering God through joyful praise, and reaching out to the nations of the world.
Our hope is that you will feel loved and that God will touch your life in some relevant way when you join with us for worship services. We are a “come as you are” church, yet we believe our God and His gospel will change individuals from the inside out. We have a variety of teaching ministries that includes a Pre-K through 12th Grade Christian school, Northern Lights Christian Academy.

Pastor Bio
Our pastor, Timothy Warner, was born and raised in Rice Lake, WI. He graduated from High School there in 1973. He then graduated from WITC (Telephony) in 1974. After working in the telephone industry and managing a motorcycle shop, he came to know Christ as Savior in the summer of 1976.
Shortly after his conversion to Christ, he enrolled at International Bible College in San Antonio, TX. He graduated with a Bachelor of Theology degree in the spring of 1980. After serving under Pastor Virgil Amundson at Shell Lake Full Gospel Church for two years, he and his wife, Sandy, began pastoring here in Hayward in 1982. The church was then called Community Bible Church. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, the name of the church became Northern Lights Christian Center. The name change was to reflect the calling to be a gospel LIGHTHOUSE to the community and nations of the world.
With Pastor’s obedience to the Holy Spirit, our church became known as Northern Lights Christian Center and went from an evangelical church to one of a full gospel nature. Pastor has continued his education and received his Master of Christian Education degree and his Doctor of Philosophy degree in August 2000; both from Logos University. He has written several books, with heavy emphasis on the local church, biblical worldview, and apologetics.
Besides pastoring Northern Lights, he has freely given himself to working and praying with fellow pastors in the community, state, and nation. He gives clear direction regarding moral issues that confront local communities. Pastor Warner oversees ministries and travels to other countries. He serves in prisons, nursing homes, streets, radio ministry, mission conferences, and leadership development. He works with public and private schools and enjoys good communication with civil authorities in chaplain-type ministry.
Pastor Timothy Warner is married to his beloved wife Sandra; they have four grown children and sixteen grandchildren. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and reaching out to bikers.
